Black ice is present throughout the network following recent rainfall. We expect it to affect our roads for the rest of the week. Grit trucks are currently patrolling and gritting priority roads and will work through the network as they can. Updates available on our Facebook page.

QLDC Sport and Recreation operates three aquatic facilities on behalf of our local community.

We offer a variety of aquatic programmes at these facilities including Aquafit, Tri Squad and Ante-Natal Fitness.

You'll find a timetable showing which lanes are free and which are booked by clubs and groups throughout each day on the webpage for each facility, along with a full list of daily activities over school holidays.

Learn to Swim

Our learn-to-swim programmes cover all ages and are operated by QLDC Swim School, endorsed by the New Zealand Swim Teachers and Coaches Association (NZSCTA) as a gold quality swim school.

Community Pools

In addition, Council also provides grants to assist with the operation of the following community pools:

Glenorchy Community Pool, Cantire Street (open Labour weekend until Easter weekend)

Hawea Community Pool, Hawea Flat School, Camp Hill Road (open Labour weekend until early March; weather permitting).
