Community Fund

The Community Fund supports local initiatives that enhance community wellbeing, resilience, and connectedness in the Queenstown Lakes District. Funding is available for not-for-profit groups, charities, and community organisations delivering projects that align with community priorities. This fund aims to empower local groups to make a meaningful impact through events, services, and initiatives that benefit the wider community

2025-2026 Funding Round

The 2025-2026 Community Fund has a total pool of $180,000, reflecting the funding allocation set in the QLDC Annual Plan. With a smaller funding round this year, priority will be given to initiatives that align closely with community needs and deliver strong local impact.

Community Fund 2024-2027 Recipients

Grants have been awarded to community groups and not-for-profit organisations operating across the district following the 27 June 2024 Full Council meeting.

Applicants were able to request up to three years of operational or project funding through this round. The Community Fund 2024-2027 closed for applications on 7 May 2024. 

Note: If applying next year in the 2025-2026 funding round, you'll only be able to apply for one year of funding.


Community Associations

There are 15 formally recognised Community Associations across our district who actively represent and advocate for the needs and interests of their local communities.

These groups each receive an annual community grant of $5,000 for operational support and project seed funding. If they want to apply for additional project funding, they were able to complete an application for the Community Fund 2024-2027.
