  • A planner will assess the request to surrender. In deciding whether to approve the request, the planner may consider matters such as the conditions of consent or a related consent, any works already undertaken, or how the surrender may impact other consents.

Depending upon the consented activity, the assessment may include a site visit by the planner or may require a report by the consent holder to confirm works undertaken or conditions that have been met.

We aim to complete assessment and the surrender transaction within 20 working days. There is a fixed fee for requests to surrender consent which must be paid before processing of the request begins.

You remain responsible for compliance with conditions, annual charges (if applicable) and monitoring fees until we have confirmed the surrender.
