Leisurely Exercise is an ongoing exercise programme designed for the 'young at heart' members of our community.
These specific classes will help improve or maintain your physical fitness, strength, flexibility and balance in a fun, social environment. They're designed to enhance your independence and help you get more out of your everyday living and recreation. Run by our specialist instructors, potential benefits also include:
- Reduced blood pressure and cholesterol
- Decreased risk of osteoporosis and falls
- Increased strength and flexibility
When joining the programme, all participants must complete a one-on-one fitness assessment with one of our personal trainers. This ensures we are aware of your capabilities. Once this assessment has been completed, you are entitled to participate in all Leisurely Exercise classes.

- If you are over 80 years of age, you will be required to have an annual medical check to ensure you have medical approval to participate in the programme. Medical checks are now free of charge
- Leisurelys members with concession cards are permitted to use the pool before and after any timetabled Leisurelys sessions; Leisurelys members with full memberships can use the pool whenever they like
- Please collect your Leisurelys class tag from Customer Services (reception) before you attend each class.

30-mins of functional stability training to improve your balance in everyday life. Our class is accredited as a Falls Prevention class.
Gently work on increasing your flexibility and decrease the risk injury with this gentle 45min stretch class. At the end of each class we enjoy a cup of tea together.
45-mins of gentle yoga stretching movements. No strength standing poses this class is all about improving joint mobility and releasing muscle tension.
Designed to improve mobility, flexibility and balance, Tai Chi involves a series of slow, fluid, gentle movements based on a ancient form of exercise that has been practiced for hundreds of years. Tai Chi has been shown to promote relaxation and prevent falls through improvement in balance reactions and lower limb strength. A perfect class for beginners - no experience needed! Join us for a cup of green tea after class.
Les Mills RPM Easy Rider
A great form of low impact, aerobic exercise. We'll show you how to set up your bike then we'll take on the terrain with your inspiring team coach who leads the pack through hills, flats, mountain peaks and intervals. Bookings are required for RPM classes - click here for details.
