New Zealand Ice Fern
I started playing ice hockey at age 10 in the United Arab emirates, After moving back to Queenstown not long after I continued to pursue my passion for the sport with much support from my family, community and the Queenstown Ice Hockey Club. In 2013 I had the privilege and opportunity to travel to Aldergrove, Vancouver in BC Canada and participate in the Friendship Ice Hockey tournament.
In 2014 I began to play for the Wakatipu High School team, I was fortunate enough to be playing alongside several Southern Stampede and Ice Black players. In 2015 I had the privilege of being assistant captain for Queenstown’s first women’s team, The Red Rock Ice Maidens and the Southern Women’s Rep Team.
I am very honoured to have been selected and played for the New Zealand Ice Fernz, the national women’s Ice Hockey team and selected for the NZ U18 women’s team.
In February I travelled to Sweden and Spain with the team for the IIHF Div II Group B World Champs. I was extremely humbled by all of the local support, receiving Best Player of the game for New Zealand vs. Australia.
In the future I hope to be selected again for the Ice Fernz and to extend my hockey career overseas.
