Frankton Golf Centre is now home of the South Island's first official FootGolf course, which opened early in October 2015.
The niche sport is steadily spreading throughout the world, combining two of the world’s most popular sports, football and golf. Players aim to get a size five football into a 21-inch hole using as few kicks as possible. It’s the same concept as golf, except you use your feet and a football.
What's great about the game is that it's so family orientated. So mum, dad and the kids can come out and have a game together. We've got footballs available and no other equipment is required.
FootGolf Summer League
Thursday evenings could get a whole lot more social with Queenstown's brand new sport. Get your mates together and express your interest in our FootGolf League this summer. Teams will consist of 4 people each, playing Thursday evenings from 6pm.
Once we have a sufficient number of teams willing to get involved with FootGolf, we'll announce the league dates.
Our first five weeks will be non-handicapped, while the second 5 weeks will be handicapped.
Registrations are $300/team and the football will be supplied. Great prizes are up for grabs too. All ages are welcome to play in our FootGolf league.
To express your interest please phone 03 442 3584 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
